Black Stars coach, Otto Addo has refuted claims that Callum Hudson-Odoi was being considered for the upcoming games against Mali and the Central African Republic.

Hudson-Odoi, a winger for Nottingham Forest, has yet to decide on his international career after being approached by the Black Stars following a three-year absence from England’s national team.

Although he has not made a decision, the former Chelsea player is still eligible to represent Ghana according to new FIFA rules, which permit players with fewer than three competitive international caps to switch nationalities.

Prior to the release of the squad for the June matches, rumors circulated that Addo had selected Hudson-Odoi for the team

So far not yet. Also heard people saying Hudson-Odoi has been invited. To me, nobody came to me so far but we are open to anybody who wants to join, Coach Otto Addo said.

If somebody wants to join, a special player like him, we are always open, he added.

Addo led the Black Stars to back-to-back victories in the World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.
