The Accra High Court was compelled to adjourn the murder trial of former Abuakwa North MP JB Danquah-Adu, following the ongoing jurors strike.
The late legislator, affectionately called JB, was murdered in his home at Shiashie in February 2016.
Two persons — Daniel Asiedu, also known as Sexy Don Don and Vincent Bossu — were dragged to court over the MP’s death.
However, Mr Bossu, popularly known as Junior Agogo, was acquitted and discharged by the court in March this year.
The trial judge, Justice Lydia Osei Marfo, ruled that the prosecution failed to make any case against him.
Daniel Asiedu is now the only person standing trial for the murder.
Although the accused (Daniel Asiedu) and his legal team were in court on Wednesday, May 29, the trial could not proceed as planned due to the jurors’ absence.
The case has been adjourned to June 10, 2024.
The court is hopeful the concerns of the striking jurors will be addressed before the next adjourned date.
At the last court appearance, the accused person accused police investigators of coercing him to leave his fingerprints on the late MP’s body and at the crime scene.
