Air strike on Libya ‘biscuit factory kills foreigners’

Source BBC

At least seven civilians are reported to have been killed and many more injured in an air strike on the Libyan capital, Tripoli.

The country’s UN-recognised government said a biscuit factory had been hit, and that foreign workers from Bangladesh, Egypt and elsewhere were among the casualties.

The site lies in the city’s southern suburbs.

They have frequently been the scene of fighting since the forces of the renegade general, Khalifa Haftar, launched an attempt to capture Tripoli in April.

His offensive met resistance, and it is bogged down in the city’s outskirts.
