Dead Body found at Kasoa Walantu

A lifeless body of a man believed to be in his late 30s has been found at Kasoa Walantu junction in Awutu Senya East of the Central Region.

The deceased was found naked with some cutlass wounds on his head and parts of his body in the wee hours of Saturday.

Information gathered indicates that he was killed elsewhere and his body was dumped at Walantu Junction.

According to the Assemblyman for the Area, Hon. Robert Arthur, the man is not known in the area, but he has been informed that the deceased is a resident of Liberia Camp.

He urged the Kasoa Police Commander to beef up security in the area since criminalities are growing.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the mortuary for preservation.

Similar cases have become rampant in recent times.

Below are some recent such incidences.

On March 7, 2024, the body of a 26-year-old man was discovered under bizarre circumstances in a cemetery at Baifikrom, a community near Mankessim in the Central Region.

The victim, identified as Kweku Kakra, popularly known in the community as ‘Kweku Opa’, was found with multiple bullet and cutlass wounds on his body.

Also on February 21, 2024, an unidentified man believed to be in his 70s was found dead along the Mankessim to Cape Coast Highway in the Central Region.

According to residents, they woke up only to see the lifeless body of the deceased at the roadside.

On February 17, 2024, the lifeless body of a young man was discovered at Krofrom, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

Residents are uncertain about the details surrounding the occurrence, but some have suggested that the deceased might have been a thief who was lynched and then dumped in their area.

On Saturday, January 27, 2023, the decomposing body of a man was found at Diamond Hill, a suburb of Atwima Denkyemuoso, in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The deceased, believed to be in his mid-40s, was found in a bush.

Also, on October 6, 2023, the decomposed body of an unknown female was found near the sacred River Subin in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region.

The body was reportedly found around 2:05 p.m. in a rotten state, so it was impossible to identify the deceased person.

What led to the unfortunate demise of the deceased was not readily known, but the state in which the body was found suggested foul play.

Again, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, the body of a mentally ill woman believed to be in her 50s was found floating on the Amissah Okye River at Mankessim in the Central Region.

The deceased was identified as Ama, a mentally ill person who had been a threat to the residents of Edumadze, a community within Mankessim.

Information gathered indicates that the deceased was also a mother of three.
