Performance Tracker To Elicit Accountability – Akufo Addo
Ghana’s leader Akufo Addo says his government has speedily dragged the government and the governed face-to-face to enhance accountability. He gave credit for such closeness among actors in the body politic to the wave of digitalization taking place under his watch. A key point he dropped during the 2024 State Of-the-Nation-Address in Parliament In Accra.
The President said the App doing this magic was a Performance Tracker which is among a myriad of hi-tech tools introduced into governance for monitoring and evaluation. He said the Tracker would make it possible for the public to see all government projects by the tap of an application on their phones and other communication devices.
Calling it evidence-based political stewardship and accountability, he praised his Vice-President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for spearheading the transformational process.
Throwing in a political hat, President Akufo Addo assured that ”Never again would a government use an artist impression to depict non-existent activities. This comment surely rings a bell and awakens reminiscence about a similar jab former President John Mahama threw in 2016 describing the concrete nature of his achievements as ”Filli Gado Chii,” to wit, ocular proof of fast-motioned development he led.
