Dr Toni Aubynn has advised new Ghana Football Association 12-member Executive Council to elect a vice who is not interested in becoming a President now.

Following the election of Kurt Okraku as the President of the association, the issue of the vacant vice president has popped up with personalities like Randy Abbey, Frederick Acheampong, Toni Aubynn among others have been linked to the position.

Dr Aubynn who is a member of the GFA Executive Council says it will be best to have a Vice who has no ambition of replacing the President in the shortest possible time.

“If I was the President and have the power I would have chosen someone with no Presidential ambition as my Vice President” he told Asempa FM.

The Board Chairman for Medeama SC who rescinded his decision to contest for the GFA Presidential position has now revealed that he did so because his primary interest is to be on the ExCo where it comes with responsibilities.

He added that he wouldn’t mind if he is asked to put forward his name for the GFA Vice position because he believes he has the experience having worked in the corporate world.

“My primary interest was to be a member of the EXCO, however, if I’m given another responsibility I will gladly accept it. If I’m supposed to vie for the Vice President position I would because I have the experience to do the job.”

“However, being the Vice President is not a world cup for me.”

The former CEO of Goldfields Ghana further urged Ghanaians to have faith in the new Ghana Football Association.

The 12-member Executive Council will elect a new person to deputize President Kurt Okraku in the coming days.
