In a surprising turn of events, the Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong and his Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro colleague, Sylvester Tetteh, have smoked a peace pipe in Parliament.

This comes after the two were involved in a heated confrontation within the parliamentary chambers on Tuesday, February 13.

The incident occurred when Sylvester Tetteh, attempted to extend pleasantry with his colleague, Kennedy Agyapong, but the latter got infuriated for no apparent reason.

Although the parliamentary session was ongoing, Mr Agyapong was seen engaging in a heated verbal exchange with Mr Tetteh, vehemently urging him to step aside.

The unexpected confrontation took many by surprise as the exchange escalated in intensity.

As voices rose and accusations flew, both MPs stood toe-to-toe, their countenances contorted with anger.

However, before matters could escalate further, Deputy Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin swiftly stepped in to whisk Sly Tetteh away from the chamber.

The incident has sparked discussions among parliamentary observers, with many questioning the root cause of the heated exchange between the two MPs.

The incident, which initially sparked concerns of a brewing conflict, has now taken a positive twist as the two MPs set aside their differences after the swift intervention of the majority leadership.

The two MPs were seen in pictures and videos in Parliament beside each other as Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin and Majority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh helped them bury the hatchet.

The Effutu MP jokingly said NPP presidential candidate aspirant Kennedy Agyapong has to throw a reconciliation party for all MPs.
