The foundation is a children’s foster home. Such social interventions are within the prime interests of German volunteerism.

The 2024 German Volunteer Partner Conference was held between January 29 and February 2 in Ghana. “Weltwarts” is the eponymous German label on this agenda which kicked off in 2008 from a few locations, and gradually spread to most parts of the globe.

The All-West African affair plus Germany saw the participants of the Ghana event embarking on-site tours to see some projects being undertaken by the German volunteers.

They visited Royal Beam Preparatory School in Accra, and Anidaso Woho Ghana Foundation at Dawhenya. The photos in this report are related to the latter.

Participants were impressed with the level of work that has been done at both workstations. In showing appreciation, they commended volunteers and encouraged them to continue their good works in the area of nutritional support, provision of teaching and learning accoutrements, and the facelifting of structures for greater convenience.

Though Germany cherishes cross-cultural settings, the cultural differences and adjusting to the African system and ways are the main challenges they face in their activities. Slowly, some volunteers are integrating into local environments, and learning foreign languages.
