Woman arrested for pouring hot water on co-tenant

Police in Koforidua in the Eastern region have arrested a woman for pouring hot water on her co-tenant.

The suspect, Augustor Akorli, was put before the Koforidua Circuit Court “A” on Tuesday October 22,2019 and was granted bail. She has however failed to meet her bail condition hence still in police custody.

The victim who is a resident of Koforidua Anlo Town on October 20, 2019 rushed to the police station with burns all over her body to report that the suspect poured hot water on her at about 9 am.

Police subsequently issued medical forms to her for treatment and has since been on admission at the Eastern Regional Hospital, Koforidua.

The suspect popped up at the police station to report herself whilst the Police prepared to go pick her up. She was immediately arrested to assist with investigation.

She however told the police during investigation that the victim and her children physically attacked hence her decision to pour hot water in self-defense.
