2023 Afcon: Black Stars holds first training session at Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex
Ghana’s Black Stars started preparations for the highly anticipated 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) with an exciting first training session at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
Head coach Chris Hughton and his team landed in Kumasi today, kicking off an intensive pre-season period.
The heartbeat of Ghana resonated through the airport as the technical team and the talented players were embraced by the rhythmic beats of traditional drums and the mesmerizing adowa dance.
The team has taken residence in a yet-to-be-named hotel, creating a form of concentration and camaraderie as they fine-tune their tactics and fortify their unity.
Ghana will play Namibia at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday, January 8, 2024, in a pre-tournament friendly to fine-tune the squad before flying to Ivory Coast for the tournament.
The friendly game will kick off at 8:00 pm.
Ghana will face Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique in Group B.
