The search for body of a 4-year-old pupil who drowned in a river while crossing to school has entered day three (3).

Residents of Togodo in the Yilo Korobo municipality of the Eastern region were thrown into a state of mourning Wednesday 16th October,2019 when little Tetteh Osmond drowned while crossing river Pongong with his friend.

Body of the deceased, Tetteh Osmond is yet to be retrieved three days after the incident.

A joint search team made up of the police, NADMO and local divers have intensified efforts to retrieve the body.

The lives of residents including school children and pregnant women are always endangered since they have to walk through river Pongong whenever it overflows.

Efforts by community members to construct a wooden bridge over the river has yield no positive result as it gets submerged when ever the river overflows its banks.

Residents are therefore appealing to government to come to their aid to construct a bridge over the River Pongong.
