The 2020 New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Sege, Eunice Lasi, has officially declared her intention to contest the Sege seat as an independent candidate.

During a media conference at her campaign office in Sege, Madam Lasi disclosed that, after considering advice from her supporters and driven by her commitment to providing effective representation for the people of Sege, she has chosen to contest independently.

Madam Lasi has instructed her supporters to remove all campaign posters featuring NPP backgrounds, indicating her departure from the party.

Last week, she officially communicated her resignation from the NPP to the party’s general secretary.

She cited unfair treatment and setbacks since her decision to contest various positions within the party.

In her resignation letter, Madam Lasi also pointed to alleged infractions orchestrated by constituency executives and the regional party chairman, Devine Otu Agorhom, during the recently concluded primaries, where she lost to her contender, Dodzie Numekevor.
