The Volta Regime Music Group (VRMG), managers of Ghanaian rapper Edem, have thrown more light on a fatal accident that has resulted in the prosecution of the musician.
Edem was granted GH¢50,000 bail with two sureties by the Kaneshie District Court on Monday, December 11, 2023, for allegedly knocking down a woman on the George Walker Bush Highway in Accra on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
His management, in a statement, said the rapper “narrowly escaped a fatal accident as described by the MTTD division of the Tesano Police Service. On Sunday, December 10, the musician had an accident on the George Walker Bush Highway, where a naked woman crossed his path out of nowhere”.
The ‘Nyedzilo’ hitmaker is cooperating with the police, and the case is still under investigation.
Edem was charged with two counts of careless and inconsiderate driving and negligently causing harm when he appeared before the court presided over by Nana Abena Asor Owusu Amenyo on Monday, December 11, 2023.
He is to re-appear before the court on February 15, 2024.
