Govt has earmarked Ghs100m as grant funding to thousands of youth-led start-ups and MSMEs – Bawumia
Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Thursday, November 30, 2023, addressed thousands of youth drawn from across the country at the end of a YouStart Grant Expo.
The expo was dubbed “Empowering Youth Entrepreneurs For A Resilient Economy”.
The Vice President used the occasion to explain what the government has been doing to support youth start-ups.
He indicated that the government has made available Ghs100 million as grant funding and training to thousands of mostly youth-led start-ups and Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs).
This, he said is part of a deliberate, ongoing effort to generate a critical mass of youth entrepreneurs to leverage Ghana’s largely youthful population to stimulate economic empowerment and development.
Dr Bawumia further reiterated government’s determination to provide Ghanaian youth with the necessary training and funds to make it on their own and contribute their quota to national development.
