NPP Nasara slams Sam George for religious remarks
The Nasara Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has condemned in strong terms a recent comment made by Sam George, the NDC Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo Prampram, branding Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as a “religious prostitute”.
The NPP Nasara accused Sam George of promoting religious bigotry, incendiary, and reckless remarks, particularly coming from an MP.
The NPP says the remarks made by Sam George are dangerous and portend a great danger to the peace and stability of the country.
The group reminded Sam George that Ghana had come a long way in fostering religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence, admonishing religious differences. In a statement, it said, “We are a one Ghana, a one people, and a one nation united by common destiny.”
The group also asked Sam George to retract his inflammatory and dangerous comments and apologize unconditionally for his disservice to the motherland. It further called on all right-thinking members of society, including CSOs, the Parliament of Ghana, religious bodies, and traditional leaders to condemn Sam George’s utter recklessness.
The statement was signed by Alhaji Haruna Futa, Nasara Coordinator.
