Be bold and report sexual harassment cases-NAB to students
The National Accreditation Board (NAB) has urged students to be bold and report cases of sexual harassment to the right authorities.
This call comes after a BBC documentary titled ‘sex for grades’ captured two lecturers of the University of Ghana in compromising situations with students.
Acting Executive Secretary of NAB, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko in a statement said they are
” appalled by the potential damage that this investigative piece could do to the reputation of the University of Ghana and seriously implore all institutions to protect students, especially females, by instituting appropriate systems, structures and strengthen, and fully implement sexual harassment policy”.
“The board wishes to state emphatically that it will not countenance any inappropriate behavior, which has the tendency to compromise teaching and learning, which ultimately could affect the quality and standard of tertiary education in Ghana”.
The regulator of tertiary institutions is however encouraging students to avail themselves to grievance resolution procedures after the cases are reported.
