With this result I am convinced we will give NDC a showdown in 2024 – Dr Bawumia
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president of Ghana now the presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has showed gratitude to the party delegates for giving him the mandate to lead the party in the 2024 general election.
Dr Bawumia at the end of the presidential primary on November 4 polled a total of 118210 votes representing 61.47% across the countrr, while his closest contender Mr Agyapong had 71 ,996 votes representing 37.41%.
Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto came third with 0.76% while Francis Addai Nimoh was last with 0.41%.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, addressing the media after being declared the flagbearer of the party said he is very optimistic that the outcome of the presidential primary will give the party victory in the 2024 general election.
He also urged the delegates and all party supporters to continue working hard for the party to retain power in 2024.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia further appealed to all his contenders to unite with him to give the National Democratic Congress(NDC) being the common enemy a showdown in 2024.
