No delegate is sidelined in the presidential primary- NPP General Secretary
The General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong has refuted claim of some delegates being sidelined in the ongoing presidential primary.
About 50 names of delegates in the Awutu Senya East constituency, including the Member of Parliament for Shama, Erickson Abekah, are alleged to be missing in the voter’s album for the presidential primary.
This implies those delegates will not get the opportunity to vote for their preferred candidate to lead the NPP in the 2024 general election.
However, the General Secretary of the party addressing the media on November 4 said the allegation is false and should not be supported in any way, as all the 203,439 delegates have their names in the voter’s album.
Exception
Frimpong Kodua added that, the party had written to the Electoral Commission to allow MPs and MMDCEs whose names are not in the album list in their respective constituency to vote.
The presidential primary of the NPP which started at 7:00 am is expected to come to a closure at 2:00 pm.
