Exhibition Officers of the Electoral Commission (EC) are dismayed over the poor attendance of prospective voters in verifying their details on the first day of the exhibition exercise.
The voters’ exhibition exercise, which commenced today, November 3, allows prospective voters to verify their details, including name, age, sex, and polling station, and to make requests for amendments or inclusions where necessary before the pending district and national elections.
The Ghana Report, in an interview with some Exhibition Officers at the Ansa Rudeen polling station in the Ablekuma North Constituency, expressed worry over the public’s apathy towards the ongoing exhibition of the voters’ register.
As of 3:28 pm, the exhibition officers said only thirteen (13) prospective voters out of two hundred and eighty-seven (287) had reported to verify their details.
The case of low patronage at Ansa Rudeen polling station is not the only situation, as other exhibition officers at other polling stations are complaining about low attendance on the first day.
The exhibition exercise is taking place at all 38,622 polling stations across the country.
The exhibition starts from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is expected to end on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
