Security guard killed at residence of Lands Commission official in Koforidua

A private security guard, identified as Peter Bawuo, has been killed at the residence of a Lands Commission official at Koforidua in the Eastern region.

The lifeless body of the deceased believed to be in his 50s, was discovered under suspicious circumstances.

What caused the death of the deceased was not immediately known to the police.

However, the state in which Peter Bawuo’s body was found gave a strong indication that he had a fatal encounter with assailants during his night shift.

Preliminary investigation suggests that he may have been struck on the head with a blunt object after a struggle with his unknown attackers.

Police have since commenced investigations into the matter.

The deceased’s body was inspected and sent to the morgue for preservation and autopsy.

This tragic event has cast a sombre atmosphere in the family house of the deceased at Nyamekrom, a suburb of New Juaben South Municipality.
