Three out of the five missing persons in the Western Region as earlier announced by the Ghana Police Service have been found.
The three are Fauzia Aliu, Augustina Koomson and Rosina Gyekyewaa.
The announcement was made in a statement on the Ghana Police Service’s Facebook page on Sunday.
This means the Police are still searching for the other two – Charity Boah and Kwame Krah
Fauzia Aliu, 17, is said to have returned home on October 2, 2019, at about 9pm.
The father, Aliu Suleman, brought his daughter to the Police on 4 October 2019 with the victim informing the Police that she left home for Accra in search of her biological mother.
She has been reunited with the father.
Rosina Gyekyewaa
According to the Police, 13-year-old Rosina Gyekyewaa was found loitering in Cape Coast and was brought to the station on October 5, 2019 at 9:45am by her grandmother, Martha Manu.
The victim stated that she learnt the mother lived in Kumasi and she was going there because she doesn’t want to stay with her grandmother.
Also, in the case of Augustina Koomson (42), the husband who reported of his missing wife, came to inform the Kwesimintism Police on October 2, 2019 that, he had information that his wife was lodging with her brother at Osu in Accra after she ignored his phone calls.
On October 4, 2019, the Police were able to contact the victim who said she was sick and living with her brother in Accra.
She also informed police that she was receiving treatment and will report herself to Police when she returns to Takoradi.
Investigations by the police however did not establish any case of kidnapping.
The police cautioned the media to be circumspect in their coverage and report officially on announcements made on the police’s website.
Still missing
Police in the Western Region last Friday announced the disappearance of the residents who were all said to have gone missing in September 2019.
With the recovery of the trio, the two outstanding missing persons include 17-year-old Charity Boah, who left home on 16th September at about 4.30am.
This development comes at a time when people in the region and many Ghanaians are still reeling from the shock about the kidnapping of four young girls in Takoradi.
Members of the general public have been asked to provide the police with relevant information on the whereabouts of the missing persons via its toll-free number 1919 or 18555 or report to the nearest Police Station.
