The family of the 35-year-old businesswoman who was brutally murdered by her house help in the Ashanti Region has called for an expedited trial.

This comes after the prosecution informed the Asokore Mampong District Court that the case docket had been forwarded to the Attorney General for advice.

“What we the family are expecting is justice. As I always say, justice delayed is justice denied. This guy has already confirmed that he has committed the crime so we don’t need any delayance. We want them to do it fast. We are willing to follow this case everywhere and to every extent,” a family member spoke to the media after proceedings.

Meanwhile, the prime suspect Allister John, who is already serving 20 years in a theft case, and his alleged accomplice, James Anokye, were present in court.

Given the high emotions surrounding the case, there was a heightened security presence at the court, aimed at preventing potential attacks on the suspects by some members of the bereaved family.

In a previous court hearing, family members had attempted to confront the suspects, prompting the need for increased security.

The case has since been adjourned to October 31, 2023, for continuation.

It will be recalled that the convict and his accomplice, James Anokye, became known after they allegedly murdered and dumped the body of a 35-year-old businesswoman Princess Afua Ahenka at Sokoban-Apaaso near Kumasi.

Police have assured that they are working tirelessly to apprehend the other suspects in the murder case.

The other three suspects, who are currently at large, are Collins, a driver in Accra, Biggy, and one Christian Obu.
