Greater Accra NDC Condemns Vandalism At Party Office
The Greater Accra National Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned the act of vandalism by some supporters at the party’s regional office during the vetting of aspiring parliamentary candidates for the Odododiodoo constituency in Accra.
Some angry supporters who accused the national executives of the party of bias resorted to destroying property, including plastic chairs at the party office.
They also assaulted a reporter of Citi FM/TV, covering the primary on October 13, 2023.
The reporter, Akosua Otchere, was allegedly manhandled by some 0f the aggrieved NDC members while carrying out her assignment.
In a statement signed by the NDC Greater Accra Chairman, Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, the party said maintaining a peaceful and respectful environment during such events was paramount.
He also apologised for the attack against the journalist.
“I extend my sincere apologies to Akosua Okyere, and I assure that I will cover all the medical expenses incurred,” Mr Ashie Moore stated.
“In conclusion, on behalf of the Greater Accra NDC, we offer our heartfelt apologies to the people of Greater Accra and all of Ghana”.
