Ghana will rise again if Kennedy ‘Showdown’ joins my train- Alan Kyerematen
Independent candidate Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen is very optimistic that Ghana will rise again as envisioned if Kennedy Agyapong of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) joins his ‘Movement for Change’ entourage.
Leader and founder of the “Movement for Change” (butterfly movement) Alan Kyerematen emphasized that his vision for Ghanaians is in line with what Kennedy Agyapong whom he described as his brother has for Ghanaians.
Kennedy Agyapong popularly known as Mr. Showdown is one of the presidential aspirants in the NPP.
His campaign towards the November 4 presidential primaries has always been characterized by fierce criticisms against his own party.
The Member of Parliament(MP) for Assin Central on the ticket of the NPP on one of his tours criticized the incumbent government for failing to fight corruption as promised before taking over from former President Mahama in 2017.
When Kennedy submitted his nomination form at the party’s headquarters on June 21, he stressed that he believes in accountability therefore, his government would be free from corruption if Ghanaians vote for him to lead the nation.
“I believe in accountability. If God gives me the nod, he (pointing at his Campaign Manager) will be the Chief of Staff. Listen to me very carefully, one strike and he is out. Ghana first, and he comes second”.
“If he does anything against this country, I will fire him. That is the only way we can move this country forward. So, can you imagine if I have fired my Chief of Staff? The rest would sit up because even if the Chief of Staff has been fired, what about me the director, what about me the manager? It trickles down and we become disciplined”.
He promised to rescue Ghanaians from other powerful corrupt citizens who are hindering the progress of the nation.
With Kennedy Agyapong’s idealogy as a presidential candidate, the former Minister of Trade and Industry believes Ghana will rise again if they partner to work towards the 2024 general elections.
Mr Kyerematen resigned from the NPP on Monday, September 25, 2023, at a press conference which was to announce his intention to go independent in the 2024 polls.
Initially, he was part of the five successful presidential aspirants who were to participate in the November 4, presidential primaries of the party.
He opted out of the last five, citing unfair treatment and favouritism.
