Man Found Dead In River Densu

A man believed to be in his late 20s has been found dead in the Densu River around Togah, a suburb of Domeabra in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

The lifeless body was found in the early hours of Friday, October 6.

The body is yet to be identified.

According to a Unit Committee member for Domeabra, Stephen Akrashie, hooks and a tape measure were found in the bag of the deceased.

A bicycle was also found by the river.

It is, however, not clear what caused his death.

Mr Akrashie stated that it took the police a long time to convey the body to the mortuary due to the unavailability of a vehicle.

The body has since been deposited at the Police Hospital mortuary, pending an autopsy.

There have been similar of such cases in recent times.

On June 8, 2023, the lifeless body of an unidentified man believed to be in his late 30s was found in stagnant water at Gomoa Akotsi’s new site in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

Also, on May 26, 2023, a 44-year-old man was found dead in River Ago in Adokwai near Dompoase in the Adansi North district of the Ashanti Region.

The deceased, Kwabena Opare, was returning from his farm when the incident occurred.

Again, on May 23, 2023, a man was found dead on the banks of a river at Yeji in the Pru East District of the Bono East Region of Ghana.

The deceased is believed to be in his late thirties.

On February 1, 2023A woman, believed to be in her late 40s was found dead on the seashores of Woe-Xortorkope in the Anloga district of the Volta Region.

On January 22, 2023, a man who is believed to be in his early 40’s was found dead in a gutter at Mpasatia in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region.
