The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has directed that party flags fly at half mast on Thursday, October 5, in honour of two stalwarts who passed away recently.
The departed colleagues are former MP for Ningo Prampram, Enoch Teye Mensah (E.T. Mensah), and the party’s former National Treasurer, Dr Sidney Laryea.
A statement containing the directive said the late E.T. Mensah held a prominent role as the first national youth organizer of the NDC.
His dedicated service and unwavering patriotism propelled him to become the longest-serving sports minister under the 4th Republic.
At the time of his passing, E.T. Mensah was a respected Member of the Council of State.
According to the party, Dr Laryea, the NDC’s former National Treasurer, also served with unparalleled commitment and dedication, leaving an indelible mark.
The NDC, in recognizing the invaluable contributions of these two individuals to both the party and the country, has pledged to support the respective families of the late E.T. Mensah and Dr Sidney Laryea in giving them a fitting and honourable farewell.
The party used the opportunity to extend their wishes for the peaceful repose of the departed comrades.
Below is the statement to that effect.
