The Member of Parliament (MP) for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, is again trending on social media for the wrong reasons.
Viral videos show the MP engaging constituents and trying to serve them with refreshments, but the gesture seems to have irked a section of the public.
In the video, she was seen moving from one end to the under a canopy as she distributed yoghurt and other snacks to persons in a queue.
The time the videos were taken is unknown, but many MPs are busy trying to organise constituents eligible to vote to register in the ongoing limited voter registration rolled out by the Electoral Commission (EC) to participate in the 2024 elections.
While some individuals commended Ms Safo for the gesture, several others believe it is a populist move to win the hearts of constituents after her absence from Parliament for a very long time.
Ms Safo said she needed to attend to family matters and spent several months in the United States.
President Akufo-Addo subsequently removed her from the role of Gender Minister and appointed a new replacement.
Before the commencement of the voter registration exercise, Ms Safo posted a lengthy apology and asked for forgiveness from President Nana Akufo-Addo, the NPP party, parliamentarians, Chief of Staff and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Below are some of the comments:
So for how long shall we allow our politicians to operate with freedom in their deceiving business? Sarah Adwoa Safo stayed away from a whole constituency for a year for her family but now pretends to care for the constituency in a two-week exercise by serving them with food. pic.twitter.com/yhTtccA2kW

Dear @SarahAdwoaSafo,
What meaningful devt or transformation have you brought the Dome/Kwabenya community after 12yrs of reign?
You left to live abroad, danced on TikTok to spite them and gifted your son a $60K Covertte but think they deserve GHC 3.50 worth of Fan Yoghurts? pic.twitter.com/cmQA4dQpIf

@SarahAdwoaSafo When was the last time u served your kids with youghurt at home. State your intentions and stop acting up. Ghanaians/Kwabrenya youths are wise, go and face your family problems and let other people work for us.
