National Secretary for Youth Affairs at the Ghana United Nations Association (GUNA) , Comrade Samuel Bamidele Ojo, has accused political parties, traditional leaders and even some media practitioners, for deliberately inciting the youth to cause instability in the country ahead of the 2020 elections.

According to him, all these actors have become agents of destruction, threatening the peace that we continue to enjoy in this country.

In an interview with The Ghana Report, Comrade Bamidele Ojo said it is wicked for opinion leaders to deliberately use the youth as bait for their ‘treacherous’ actions.

“Our opinion leaders are not helping build the country, they incite the youth to cause bloodshed and destroy properties. But will never allow their own children to partake in any demonstration,” he stressed.

“They will take their children to the best schools outside the country, visit the best hospitals around the world while they incite the gullible youth to do their bidding for their selfish interests,” he added

He further argued that, these leaders will desert the youth immediately if things do not go according to plan.

“I can bet the youth that their paymasters would never be in court to sympathize with them when the law busts them,” he said.

Comrade Bamidele warned the chiefs and religious leaders to shun hiding behind the educated unassuming youth to cause tribal, religious or political uprising ahead of the 2020 elections.

“These attitudes by such leaders are evident in most of our communities, in and outside Ghana, and for us, these opinion leaders are more dangerous than our politicians, ” he revealed.

He therefore urged opinion leaders to help the youth develop their talents and skills for national development, rather than inciting them to engage in unlawful activities to the detriment of their own future.
