The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted the Headmistress of West Africa Senior High School (WASS) for collecting unauthorised fees from students.

In a statement issued by GES on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, Dr Shine Agartha Ofori is to hand over the administration of the school to the Greater Accra Regional Director of Education.

Meanwhile, GES said the Regional Disciplinary Committee is investigating the matter.

The interdiction will remain in effect until the final determination of the case by the committee.

This comes after the Headmaster of Fijai Senior High School was interdicted in April 2023 for a similar issue.

Mr Kenneth Agbomadze was then directed to hand over the administration of the school to the Western Regional Director of Education.

He was later reinstated after the committee set up to investigate the matter cleared him of any wrongdoing.
