The National Chairman for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on all the aspirants gingering their campaigns with hate speeches to desist from that behavior.

Stephen Ayensu Ntim being the chairman of the party advised the candidates to focus on what they seek to achieve when they are elected to lead the party after the November 4 primaries rather than attacking each other falsely.

He disclosed that the party is aware of the ill-mannered attacks ongoing in the campaign process and is currently engaging the candidates on how to resolve the issue to the very best of their understanding.

“We are engaging them behind the scenes. Everybody should put down their tools, weapons and just articulate their message to the delegates. They will understand you if it makes sense, and vote for you accordingly,” Mr. Ntim stated in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report on Starr FM.

Meanwhile, several political lecturers and analysts have also urged the candidates not to initiate any dirty campaign that can dent the image of the party.

Recently, former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen, in his campaign tour claimed that the governing party which Bawumia is serving as the Vice lacks a campaign message.

This statement did not augur well with the incumbent government since the party executives opined that the main opposition party, National Democratic Congress(NDC) can build on that statement to campaign against them in 2024.

Mr. Ntim has warned the candidates to put a stop to that behavior since they are all loyal members of NPP and are seeking a common goal which is to break the ‘8’ in 2024.
