Ghanaian man arrested over death of his 33-year-old wife in the US

A Ghanaian man, Harrison Adu Boakye, 46, has been arrested in connection with his wife’s death in Fleetwood, United States (US).

Police officers found the 33-year-old woman unresponsive inside their home after a domestic incident.

Following an investigation by Berks County police, Boakye was arrested on Friday, July 7, 2023, and charged with aggravated assault.

According to the Berks County District Attorney, the Fleetwood Police Department was called to a domestic situation just before 8:30 a.m. on July 7.

The officers discovered an unresponsive 33-year-old woman inside the home, and she died while life-saving measures were being administered.

Boakye was picked up at the scene, shortly after his wife was pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, the DA’s office said an autopsy has been scheduled for the victim, and the investigation is ongoing.

This comes on the same day another Ghanaian shot two of his family members and then fired on police.

The 24 years old suspect is believed to be a former student of Wenchi Senior High School who currently resides in Worcester in the US with his family.

According to the police, officers were dispatched to a residence on Colby Ave, Worcester in response to a domestic incident.

For approximately thirteen hours, officers attempted to persuade the male to leave the residence.

Finally, at about 9:30 PM, the male took a step out of the rear of the residence and was taken into custody with the assistance of the K9.

The family members according to reports managed to get away and were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening
