The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), has announced the temporary shutdown of two out of the three treatment plants at the Weija Headworks.
The shutdown is necessary to facilitate maintenance and repair works scheduled to take place today, July 4, 2023.
A statement dated July 3, 2023, urged customers in and around Kasoa to store enough water ahead of this important exercise.
The areas to be affected include Kasoa, Weija township, Weija SCC, Nyanyano, Tuba, Tetegu, McCarthy Hill, Bortianor and surrounding areas.
According to the statement, the maintenance works are expected to be completed within a duration of sixteen hours (16hrs). Once the maintenance is finished, water will be restored to valued customers within the affected areas.
“The inconvenience this may cause is deeply regretted,” the statement added.
