Eid-ul-Adha: Support Government To Deliver– Akufo-Addo To Ghanaians

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on Ghanaians to support the government’s efforts to promote development and progress in the country.

The call came as the President delivered his Eid-ul-Adha message to Muslims across the country today (Wednesday, June 28).

In his message, President Akufo-Addo emphasized the importance of sacrifice and service to others and called on all Ghanaians to work together to build a better future for the country.

“Muslim faithful, fellow Ghanaians, in the spirit of Eid, I ask you to continue to support the government, your government, to deliver the needed progress and prosperity that we all seek,” he stated.

“I said in the height of the Covid-19 pandemic that we do not know how to bring back lives, but we know how to bring the economy. I stand by those words. We’re working to restore the economy to full health, and Inshallah. We shall do so.”

The call to work together to build a better future for Ghana underscores the importance of cooperation and unity in achieving national goals and objectives as Ghanaians celebrate Eid-ul-Adha.

Eid-ul-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is one of the most significant festivals celebrated by Muslims worldwide.

It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.

According to Islamic tradition, as Ibrahim prepared to sacrifice, God intervened and provided a ram as a substitute.

The festival is observed on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the final month of the Islamic lunar calendar, following the completion of Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca.

It is a time of joy, gratitude, and reflection for Muslims.

The festival is usually opened with special prayers before the slaughtering of goats, sheep or cows, among others.
