Liberty Professionals has not been sold – Club CEO Linda Ansong clarifies

In a statement, Linda Ansong, the CEO of Liberty Professionals, has set the record straight regarding speculations surrounding the club’s ownership.

Addressing swirling rumours of Hohoe MP Peter Amewu buying the club, Ansong unequivocally clarified that Liberty Professionals has not been sold, putting an end to the viral report that has captured the attention of football fans.

According to the CEO, the club is still under the ownership of its remaining founder Mr Felix Ansong and the club has rather divested its slot to compete in the Division One League.

She added that the club is currently undergoing restructuring to reestablish its reputation as a world-class developer of Ghanaian football talent and details of the new technical direction will be made public soon.

Liberty Professionals was founded in 1996 by Accra-based businessmen Felix Ansong and Alhaji Sly Tetteh.

In July 2021, the club was relegated to the Ghana Division One League at the end of the 2020/21 season, after 22 years in the Ghana Premier League since gaining promotion in 1998.
