12 things men do in relationships when they’re genuinely happy
Hindsight is a great thing, isn’t it?
Looking back, I’ve been with guys who weren’t really feeling the relationship. They did the right things, but something was always missing.
Now, being in the most fulfilling and happiest relationship of my life, I can tell the difference between a man who radiates pure joy from his heart and one who is merely going through the motions!
So, if you’re unsure of the signs about your own man, keep reading. Here are 12 things men do in relationships when they’re genuinely happy:
1) They share their emotions
Guys may avoid sharing their feelings for a variety of reasons, but generally, if they’re happy, they’re talking!
They’ll tell you when they’re down, anxious, or worried. Why?
Because happiness stems from feeling loved and supported. It also comes easier when a man feels like he can trust his partner!
So, if your man has started being open and honest about his emotions, there’s a good chance it’s because he feels comfortable sharing them with you.
2) They don’t shy away from compromise
Happy men want to share their happiness…, especially with their partners!
That’s why they’re open to compromise. After all, this is how both people in a relationship find contentment.
It’s about finding a resolution so you can BOTH be happy with the outcome.
3) They are affectionate
Now, this is a very telling thing men do in relationships when they’re genuinely happy:
Sex isn’t just wham, bam, thank you, ma’am. There’s no rolling over and checking the phone straight after.
Instead, they’ll show affection. Sex will become more romantic, softer, and slower. Plenty of cuddling should follow.
And even when you’re not getting down to business?
They won’t be able to resist a cheeky kiss as they pass you, or a stroke of your hair as you tell them about your day.
4) They can’t stop looking at you
Time for one of my personal favorites…
Ladies, if a guy can’t stop looking at you with a smile in his eyes, you know he’s genuinely happy.
But don’t be mistaken – I don’t mean staring longingly at your body or looking you up and down.
I mean when you catch him watching you as you do something mundane like the laundry or reading a book. He’s looking at you because you bring him peace and joy, and perhaps, he can’t quite believe his good fortune.
5) They actively listen to you (and remember what you say!)
And when your man isn’t busy gazing at you with love, he’ll be listening to every word you say.
You see, when men are happy in their relationship, they’re more likely to care about what you have to say.
I can see this clearly in my own relationship. In the past, I could repeat myself until I was blue in the face, my ex wouldn’t retain much of what I said.
My partner now?
He’ll put his phone down, lower the TV volume and give me his full attention. Even better, he’ll follow up on the things I tell him – it’s clear he’s paying attention!
6) They prioritize spending quality time with you
And they do so simply because being in your presence brings them joy and pleasure.
It’s that simple.
Men who aren’t happy tend to avoid doing much with their partners – they’ll act like spending the day together is a chore.
So, if your man jumps at any opportunity, and even puts things to one side to be with you, you’ve got one happy fella!
7) They tell you how happy they are
Yes, that’s right.
Men who are happy are honest about being happy.
My partner will every now and then randomly thank me for bringing happiness into his life and creating a fulfilling relationship with him.
It’s not constant (that could be a sign of insecurity or other issues), just often enough that I know he means it.
8) They have fun
Do you guys goof around? Do you laugh regularly and look for fun things to do together?
You see, happy men tend to be up for having a good laugh and enjoying themselves.
They’re not bitter or moody.
So if you guys have a blast together, there’s a pretty good chance your man is happy. If anything, he makes things fun because he wants you to be happy too!
9) They’re appreciative
Have you ever noticed how when you’re feeling good, you’re more appreciative about life?
Well, it’s the same for men.
When they’re content in their relationships, they’re more likely to show it.
But this doesn’t have to be grand gestures or romantic displays. It’s actually the small things like thanking you when you do their laundry.
Or telling you how much they appreciate you being in their lives.
10) They plan for the future
And if a man appreciates you, know that he’ll be considering you for his future!
Here’s what I’ve learned from relationships so far:
When a man’s heart isn’t in it and he’s not really content, he’s definitely not going to think about making future plans. He may keep the relationship going, but it’ll stay pretty stagnant.
On the other hand…
When a man is bursting with happiness, he’ll make efforts to keep you in his life. That means progressing in the relationship and making plans such as moving in together or getting married.
11) They’re proud to show you off to their friends
Now, by showing off, I don’t mean bragging about how much you do for them or how great you are in bed.
I mean proud to show you off because they can’t believe how happy you make them!
I’ve seen this time and time again. My male friends talk with so much respect and admiration for the women in their lives when they’re genuinely happy.
It hits differently for sure.
They talk about the fun things they do together, the way their partner makes them feel, and how blessed they are. No more dirty locker talk.
12) They let go of grudges
And finally, when men are genuinely happy in their relationships, they don’t hold grudges.
Forget bringing up arguments from 6 months ago.
Why?
Because they’re too damn happy to care about silly fights! They know how good they’ve got it, and all they want to do is get back to enjoying each other and feeling good again.
So, has this article revealed that your man is, in fact, very happy and content with you and your relationship?
I hope so! The truth is, relationships are a rollercoaster. None of us are happy 24/7. But if your man is generally happy and secures in the relationship, he’ll do the things I’ve mentioned above.
