Stonebwoy Crowned Development Chief In Shama After Providing Boreholes
Ghanaian dancehall artiste Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, has been installed as a Development Chief of Antiamoah in the Shama District of the Western North Region.
This honour bestowed on him came after the ‘Therapy’ hitmaker provided four mechanized boreholes for communities affected by ‘galamsey’ related activities and having issues with safe drinking water.
The communities were Antiamoah, Beposo Nkran, Daboase Junction, and Borkor Awuku Kope, all in the Shama District.
Traditional leaders who conferred the royal title on Stonebwoy said it was an appreciation for his kindness in commissioning four boreholes to provide accessible and potable water for the residents.
One of the chiefs said they contacted the award-winning artiste about their problems, and Stonebwoy didn’t hesitate to assist.
“We wrote to Stonebwoy requesting help due to the lack of potable water in our community, and he quickly responded by providing four boreholes that now give us access to water, which is essential for life. Stonebwoy has given us life,” one of the chiefs noted.
Stonebwoy, in showing gratitude to the chiefs and the people of Antiamoah for the honour, said he was humbled by the gesture and pledged to continue to use his Livingstone Foundation to help the less privileged.
“I am humbled by this honour, and I promise to use my platform to help the less privileged in society. I will continue to work with my foundation to provide boreholes and other amenities to communities in need,” Stonebwoy said.
Stonebwoy and his wife, Dr Loiusa Satekla, were also presented with gifts, including a smock, beads, sandals and other traditional items.
