A 32-year-old woman has reportedly stabbed her boyfriend to death in Ayigya Zongo, a community in the Kumasi area of the Ashanti Region.
The suspect, identified as Jennifer Appiah, also known as Maa Akua, is said to have inflicted multiple stab wounds on Joseph Bawa following a heated argument on Sunday.
According to the mother of the deceased, Madam Hawa Alhasan, her son was rushed to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Hospital, commonly known as “Tech Hospital,” but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The grieving mother expressed her inability to comprehend the cause of the dispute between her son and the suspect.
“Whenever a disagreement arises between the two, the woman would often threaten my son with a knife or scissors. I repeatedly urged my son to end the relationship, but he refused until his untimely demise,” Madam Alhasan recounted.
The suspect, Jennifer Appiah is currently at large, having reportedly fled the scene following the incident.
The victim’s family is now appealing to the authorities to swiftly apprehend the suspect and bring her to justice.
Law enforcement agencies have since launched an immediate investigation into the matter.
The body of Joseph Bawa has been transferred to the KNUST Hospital morgue for further examination, while efforts to locate and apprehend the 32-year-old suspect are ongoing.
