Hajj 2023: Board Members in Saudi Arabia to inspect facilities before pilgrimage
A delegation of the newly appointed Hajj Board is on its way to Saudi Arabia to inspect facilities ahead of the 2023 Hajj.
The delegation led by the Board Chair, Ben Abdallah Banda said the three days journey is to inspect facilities and logistics, such as accommodation and transportation for members who will like to participate in the 2023 Hajj pilgrimage.
According to the Board, the first batch of 6,000 Ghanaian Hajj pilgrims are expected to leave Ghana for Saudi Arabia on June 9, 2023.
The Board also noted that the previous board members procured the facilities and logistics before handing over the position to the new leaders.
“Since our appointment, we have had a series of engagements with various stakeholders in Ghana, and this visit is to give us a deep insight into what has been arranged,” said Ben Abdallah Banda.
“We have to see things on the ground for first-hand information and further engage, where necessary, to ensure all is well before the pilgrims start arriving,” he added.
