Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has won the first league title of his career.
The Gabonese national was included in Barcelona’s La Liga-winning squad after playing eight minutes of the opening game of the campaign for Xavi’s team against Rayo Vallecano, coming on for Jordi Alba before moving to Chelsea.
Despite barely playing for EPL side during their atrocious campaign in the ongoing season, the striker will receive a medal after FC Barcelona clinched their 27th La Liga title.
The 33-year-old scored 11 goals in 18 games for FC Barcelona in the 2021/2022 season before Chelsea came in for him and spent around £10 million to reunite him with Thomas Tuchel, who had managed him at Borussia Dortmund.
Things have not gone as planned following the dismissal of Tuchel a few weeks later resulting in the forward making 15 appearances all season, only five starts, and scoring a single goal in that time.
He is reported to be on the radar of the Catalan giants as the summer transfer window approaches.
Back in March, he was spotted inside the Barcelona dressing room celebrating their win over Real Madrid in El Classico, and now he’s got another reason to celebrate.
