PNC Mourns As Ismail Mahama, Son Of Party’s Former Leader, Dies In The US
Ismail Mahama, the son of a former flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Dr Edward Mahama, has passed away.
The naval officer’s sudden demise occurred on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, in the United States of America.
He was the eldest son of the PNC’s longest-serving leader, who was appointed Ghana’s Ambassador-at-large by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The sad news was confirmed by the General Secretary of PNC, Janet Nabla, who expressed her condolences to the family. “May the good Lord console H. E. Dr. Edward N. Mahama, the wife, and the entire family. Damarifa Dua,” she wrote.
Ismail Mahama’s death has shocked many Ghanaians, with tributes pouring in for the late naval officer and condolences being sent to his family.
The cause of his sudden death has not been disclosed, and it is unclear whether his body will be brought back to Ghana for burial.
The Edward Mahama family is a prominent political family in Ghana, Ismail’s father, Dr. Edward Mahama, was a candidate in Ghana’s Presidential elections between 1996 and 2012.
