Ghanaian Reggae dancehall artiste Kojo Kurankye professionally known as Ras Kuuku has publicly shown his support for Black Sherif to bag the Artiste of the Year at the 24th Vodafone Music Awards (VGMA) scheduled for Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.
Ras Kukuu who is a nominee for the Best Reggae and Dancehall Song of the Year opined that Black Sherif who has gotten over seven nominations in the 24th VGMA deserves to be crowned the Artiste of the Year because he has worked very hard to reach the peak of his music career although he broke onto the scene quite recently.
According to Ras Kuuku, he is in full support of Black Sherif, will be happy, and won’t be surprised if Blacko is announced as the Artiste of the Year on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
“Let me tell you Black Sherif is winning the Artiste of the Year because he worked hard but when it comes to the Reggae side we (Ras Kuuku and team) worked harder,” he noted in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report on TV3.
When he was asked whether he is certain of grabbing the award under the Best Reggae and Dancehall Song category he said he is certain that he will win that category.
“For the genre, it’s Ras Kuuku who did best and you know it. It’s coming back to Puom. If not Reggae Artiste of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall song is coming to Puom”.
Ras Kukuu is contesting against ‘Atia’ hitmaker Epixode, Grammy nominee Rocky Dawuni, Konkarah Jahvybz, Maccasio, and Black Sherif.
