A former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Northern Regional Women’s Organiser, Hajia Amama Shaibu, has died.
The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who expressed shock at her sudden demise, described her as someone who was dedicated to the party.
Dr Bawumia said he cherished the kind of relationship they shared, adding that “Allah accept her soul and extend the mercies of the holy month of Ramadan unto her”.
The Deputy NPP National Women’s Organiser, Hajia Safia Mohammed, also described the late Hajia Shaibu as a force to be reckoned with – a woman of unwavering faith and immeasurable courage.
“Hajia’s passing has left a void in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege to know her, work with her, and interact with her. She was a selfless leader, a role model, and a true inspiration to many people, especially women in politics.
“I had the privilege of working alongside her as the Deputy Northern Regional Women’s Organiser of the NPP, and I can say without a doubt that she was one of the most remarkable individuals I have met.”
She added that her passing is a huge loss to the NPP and the women’s movement in the Northern Region, Ghana, and the world.
The late Hajia Shaibu was the organiser of the then-Northern Region from 2009 to 2017.
Funeral arrangements are yet to be communicated.
