The Ghana Armed Forces(GAF) has warned the public to desist from patronizing a fake GAF recruitment advertisement circulating on social media.
A statement from GAF said it has monitored a fraudulent internet link advertising 2023/2024 recruitment, especially on WhatsApp and Facebook.
However, GAF said it is not conducting any enlistment or recruitment at this time and has not advertised for the year 2023/2024.
“GAF once again reiterates that it does not advertise on social media and does not engage middlemen in such exercise.
“Therefore, the public should take heed of the education and numerous reminders to desist from paying monies through ‘mobile money’ to unscrupulous persons who claim to be recruitment agents of GAF,” the statement stated.
It urged persons interested in joining GAF to stick to official channels that the service uses in announcing recruitment and enlistment exercises, which are Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times.
It added that GAF is in collaboration with other security services to track those responsible for the fake advertisement and those arrested dealt with severely.
The public was also advised to report any such unscrupulous persons to the nearest military installation or a police station.
“GAF requires the cooperation of the public to nib their fraudulent activities in the bud,” the statement urged.
