The woman alleged to have murdered one Frank Kofi Osei, the Canada-based Ghanaian who returned for holidays, has been charged with murder.
The suspect, Safina Mohammed Adizatu, also known as Safina Diamond is standing trial with Micheal Fiifi Ampofo Arku, a Technical Officer at the Adentan District Court.
With regards to her accomplice, the Attorney General’s Department says they are still doing forensic analysis so they can’t bring charges against him for now.
This comes after weeks of careful study of the case docket submitted by the prosecution.
The facts before the court indicate that on Sunday, July 24, 2022, the deceased Osei visited Diamond, his fiancée, who resided at Ashaley Botwe School Junction. He decided to spend the night with her.
According to the prosecution, at night, Safina, Arku and other accomplices yet to be identified, allegedly stabbed Osei several times with a knife and strangled him.
The prosecution said Osei’s blood was allegedly cleaned from the floor by Safina and Arku while his lifeless body was in the room for 24 hours.
The accused persons allegedly dragged Osei’s body from the first floor of the storey building through the staircase and dumped it at the gate of the house where Osei had parked his Toyota Tundra.
Two days after the incident, that is, July 26, 2022, at about 4:00 am, Safina called the police and alleged that her boyfriend who had visited her has died in her room.
A police patrol team, which rushed to the scene, found the body of Osei lying at the gate of Safina’s house.
The prosecution, however, said Safina and Arku were nowhere to be found.
Police later traced Safina to Ashaley Botwe School Junction and arrested her, but Arku escaped to Kumasi. He was later arrested. Both are currently on bail.
