Photos: Thomas Partey’s Father Leads Delegation To Atsu’s Family House To Commiserate With Them

The father of Arsenal Midfielder Thomas Partey, on Friday, March 3, led a delegation to the family house of Christian Atsu to commiserate with them.

Mr Jacob Partey was at the family home of the late Atsu to show support following his passing after being a casualty of the earthquake which happened in Turkey and Syria on February 6.

He also used the opportunity to sign the book of condolence opened by the family for the late footballer.

Mr Partey was in the company of Mrs Helina Partey, the Manye Horgbayo II, Queen of Piengua Wekpeti in the Manya Krobo Traditional Area, Ernest Sorgbodzor, Partey’s local agent and Samuel Delali Zigah, Partey’s Public Relations Officer.

Already, some Black Stars players including Abedi Ayew Pele, Asamoah Gyan, Sulley Muntari, Derek Asamoah, and Samuel Inkoom have all paid the family a visit to mourn with them.

Atsu was confirmed dead on Saturday, February 18, after being under rubble for 12 days, having been involved in the disaster a day after scoring a winning goal for Hatayspor in the Turkish Super Lig game against Kasimpasa.

His remains touched down in Ghana on February 19 and was received by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration as well as the family.

The one-week observation for the deceased footballer has been scheduled for March 4, at Adjiringanor Astro-Turf, in Accra.

The 31-year-old footballer left behind a wife and three children, who are all based in the United Kingdom.
