Fire destroys 5 bedroom self-contained house at Atebubu
Fire has swept through a five-bedroom self-contained house behind the church of Pentecost at Atebubu in the Bono East Region, destroying the entire building.
It is reported that the fire started around 10 pm last night.
According to reports, the people who gathered at the scene called for the services of the Ghana National Fire Service, but the personnel trekked to the scene without their service car.
According to reports, the firefighters said their fire tender had developed a fault, so they could not come with it.
It took the timely intervention of the youth and a water tanker car of an elder in the community to quench the fire and prevent it from extending to neighbouring houses.
However, the fire destroyed several properties before it was completely brought under control.
No casualties were reported.
