Everything To Know About Rihanna’s Baby Boy’s Name

Rihanna’s return to the spotlight has fans desperate for details about her son’s name.

The singer’s lengthy hiatus from the public eye appears to be over after a stellar Super Bowl Halftime Show performance, a pregnancy announcement and a British Vogue cover spread with A$AP Rocky and their son.

The “Rude Boy” singer hasn’t released a new album since 2016 and had been laying low since she gave birth to a baby boy on May 13, 2022, her first child with A$AP Rocky.

What is Rihanna’s baby’s name?

So what is the singer’s son named? Rihanna and A$AP have not revealed their baby’s name. A source told Us Weekly that they “have only shared the baby’s name with close family members.”

“They are keeping it a secret until they’re ready to share it with the world.”

Rihanna says she is waiting to reveal her son’s name.

“We just didn’t get around to it yet really. We’ve just been living. But I guess there’s a certain freedom that comes with the kind of just, like, getting it out there,” Rihanna told reporters on the red carpet for her Savage X Fenty show in Los Angeles in November 2022.

In the same interview, she also said that the Super Bowl is the only event she was willing to do after she gave birth.

“If I’m going to leave my baby, I’m going to leave my baby for something special,” she said.

That same night the “Love on the Brain” singer told Entertainment Weekly about her favourite part of the day now that she’s a mom.

“Oh my God, the mornings, like, seeing his morning face!” she said. “Seeing a baby with, like, little bags and waking up and they’re just, like, startled. They’re trying to figure out where they’re at. It’s the cutest, it’s my favourite part of the day.”

Rihanna is still keeping her and A$AP Rocky’s son’s name a secret in her British Vogue interview.
In a February 15 cover story, interviewer Giles Hattersley revealed that even on set RiRi, A$AP and their teams referred to the little one as “baby.”

Rihanna gushed to British Vogue about motherhood and her relationship with Rocky, calling them “best friends with a baby.”

“Everything changes when you have a baby but I wouldn’t say it’s done anything but made us closer,” she added before detailing her son’s close bond with his dad. “I’m just sitting on the sidelines when they’re together. I’m literally the girl trying to get into the boys club, waiting for my turn. He is obsessed with his father… Their connection is undeniable.”

Now that the singer is expecting her second child, fans may have to wait to hear both of the little ones’ names at once!

Rihanna is expected to honour her Barbados heritage in her son’s name.

Fans have speculated that Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, and A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, chose a naming beginning with ‘R’ for their son.

In February 2022, before the billionaire mogul gave birth, a source told Us Weekly that the singer would likely go for something inspired by her home country.

“Rihanna wants her Barbados heritage honoured when she names her child, [as well as] ASAP’s roots,” the source said.

“They want both of their cultures included. It is very important to them to keep where they are from passed down to their child.”

Rihanna did share some photos of her and A$AP Rocky’s son.

Despite her privacy around the baby boy’s name, RiRi has shown off her adorable baby boy on social media.

On December 17, 2022, the “Work” singer posted an adorable video of the baby to make her TikTok debut with the caption, “Hacked.”

“You trying to get mommy’s phone? Oh wow…oh wow,” she asks her smiling baby boy after exclaiming “Ooh!”

Rihanna revealed her pregnancy in a photoshoot early in 2022 — flashing her baby bump alongside A$AP Rocky. The two began dating sometime in 2020, after years of friendship.

A source previously told Us Weekly that we can expect the two to add to their family sooner rather than later.

“They want a big family for sure. Rihanna loved being pregnant and fully embraced her pregnancy body,” the source claimed.

However, we can likely expect to not see much of their bundle of joy.

In a separate report, a source told US Weekly, “Rihanna is extremely protective of her baby, and she’s only let a select group of close friends and family meet him.”

“With a few exceptions, Rihanna hasn’t been the type to share much of her personal life on social media. She is learning and taking each day as it comes but is devoted to being the best mom she can be. This is the most important time of her life, and she’s taking it very seriously.”

“Although Rihanna has plenty of help around her at all times, she’s definitely not relying on nannies to help raise her son,” the insider said.

Rihanna is reportedly planning to raise her son in Barbados rather than in LA.

“She wants to give her baby the same experience she had – away from the world of show business,” a source told The Mirror.
