C.K. Akunnor has initiated arbitration proceedings at the Ghana FA Normalization Committee against Asante Kotoko over breaches of his employment contract as head coach of the club.
The Greater Accra representative and management member of Kumasi Asante, Nana Kwame Danquah, revealed this on Happy FM on Tuesday.
According to Nana Kwame, Akunnor is demanding 2 years salary, league trophy cash, and CAF champions league cash.
Kotoko will appear before the committee on 15th August 2019.
The ex-Ghana international, who was relieved of his head coach duties in July, about nine months into his three-year contract, is accusing the club of material default which should be followed by compensation damages.
The George Amoako-led Kotoko management, stated that the coach had been elevated to the position of technical director after the team appointed Norwegian Kjetil Zachariassen in his stead.
Akunnor rejected the new role, insisting the decision amounts to unilateral termination of his appointment. Kotoko, on the other hand, also maintained their action was within the terms of their contact.
