Accept criticism in good faith -Arhinful tells GFA

Former Ghanaian international, Augustine Arhinful has expressed concern over the Ghana Football Association’s lack of tolerance for criticism.

According to the ex-footballer turn coach, some officials at the GFA have no tolerance for a difference of opinion and see him as an antagonist for expressing his opinions on issues.

He, therefore, called on officials of the football governing body of the country to be more accepting when criticised by Ghanaians.

“The current administration must understand that we are all Ghanaians. We are all seeking the interest of Ghana football. So when we point out the things not going on well, they should know we’re not against them,” He said in an interview with Angel Sports.

“If you’re my brother and I want to support you, I have to tell you if something is not going well. If I don’t do that I’m not helping you. When you speak they think you hate them,” he argued.

This comes at the back of various criticism of the FA by Ghanaians over the recent decline in the quality of football being witnessed in the country and also poor performance in recent times by its national teams at international tournaments.

The recent backlash saw the Ghana Football Association issue a warning to Ghanaians particularly journalists, insisting that it will take legal action against persons that make allegations against the association without facts.
