President Akufo-Addo Reshuffles Ministers

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has changed his ministers following some vacant positions.

Member of Parliament (MP) for Adansi Asokwa Kobina Tahir Hammond has been nominated as the Minister for Trade and Industry.

He replaces Alan Kyerematen who resigned to focus on his campaign to be elected the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer.

Also, Abetifi MP Bryan Acheampong has been nominated as the Minister for Food and Agriculture, while the former CEO of State Interests and Governance Authority Stephen Asamoah Boateng is the Minister-designate for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.

This was contained in a letter to the Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin dated February 7.

In addition, Member of Parliament for Karaga Mohammed Amin Adam, currently the deputy Minister for Energy, has been moved to serve as Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance. He replaces the embattled Charles Adu Boahen, who was relieved of his position following an expose by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Akwapim South MP Osei Bonsu Amoah has been elevated as Minster of state at the Local Government Ministry.

Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Dr Stephen Amoah has been nominated as the Deputy Minister-designate for Trade and Industry.

The nomination is subject to Parliament’s approval.
